Bioneer's 'CosmeRNA' Secures Key Ingredient
Patent Approval in Japan,
Paving the Way for Aggressive Entry into the Local
Hair Loss Cosmetics Market
The
core ingredient of Bioneer's hair loss cosmetics brand, CosmeRNA, has
received a patent approval in Japan, following similar approvals in South
Korea, China, Australia, and Russia. This milestone is expected to
significantly accelerate Bioneer's entry into the Japanese hair loss cosmetics
market.
The
patented ingredient is based on Bioneer's proprietary SAMiRNA platform
technology, which has been applied to create a composition designed to
promote hair and scalp care. Products utilizing this technology, such as the CosmeRNA
ARI Anti-Hair Loss Tonic, have demonstrated outstanding efficacy in
fundamentally improving scalp and hair health. This technological innovation
was recognized globally when the product won the Best Hair Product Award
at the 2024 Cosmoprof, one of the world's most prestigious cosmetics
exhibitions.
According
to TPC Marketing Research, a prominent Japanese market research firm,
Japan is the world's third-largest hair loss cosmetics market, valued at
approximately 5 trillion KRW (roughly 3.8 billion USD) as of 2023, with
steady annual growth. Japanese consumers are known for their strong preference
for high-quality, safe products and exhibit high loyalty to brands with proven
effectiveness. Bioneer plans to leverage this latest patent approval to
emphasize its scientific data, credible certifications, and clinically
validated efficacy to cater to these consumer preferences.
As of January
2024, CosmeRNA products have been officially launched and are available for
purchase on Amazon Japan. Looking ahead, Bioneer plans to expand its
online sales through major Japanese e-commerce platforms such as Amazon
Japan and Rakuten, starting in 2025. Additionally, the company aims
to strengthen its foothold by forming strategic partnerships with local
distributors to drive sales growth within Japan.
To
further establish trust and brand recognition, Bioneer will collaborate with
influencers and celebrities in the medical and cosmetic fields, showcasing the
product’s effectiveness through expert endorsements. The company also intends
to actively participate in local exhibitions and trade shows to highlight the
innovative technology and distinctive ingredients that set CosmeRNA apart.
A
representative from Bioneer stated, “Japan is a market with a strong preference
for high-quality products, making technological competitiveness a key factor
for success. CosmeRNA is not just another hair loss shampoo or superficial hair
care product; it offers a scientific approach that fundamentally improves hair
and scalp health. We expect to stand out in the Japanese market by building on
this patent approval and our previously published clinical studies. By
reinforcing our localized strategies and marketing efforts, we aim to firmly establish
our presence in Japan.”
This
latest patent approval not only highlights Bioneer's advanced technology but
also signals a significant step forward in the company's global ambitions to
revolutionize hair and scalp care.
