Bioneer Subsidiary AceBiome, Launches on China’s ‘Oriental Home Shopping’
AceBiome (CEO Myung-Hee Kim), a subsidiary of BIONEER and a company specializing in microbiome-based health functional foods, announced that its probiotic diet product BNRThin S+ will officially launch on ‘Oriental Home Shopping (东方购物)’, operated by the large state-owned media group Shanghai Media Group (SMG), on the 23rd, marking the start of its full-scale entry into the Chinese market.
Oriental Home Shopping is a major home shopping channel in China operated by SMG, a state-owned media group of Shanghai Municipality. It is a key distribution platform that targets high-income consumers in the Shanghai–Zhejiang region. This region is considered a strategic market in China with the highest income levels and strong interest and demand for premium health functional foods.
The upcoming launch broadcast on the 23rd will combine product introductions via SMG’s news channel with sales broadcasts on Oriental Home Shopping. The news channel will present the core functionality and scientific background of BNRThin S+, while the live shopping broadcast at the same time will naturally guide viewers toward purchases. The BNRThin S+ segment is scheduled for the prime viewing and sales conversion time slot, starting at 7:25 p.m.
The key ingredient of BNRThin S+, Lactobacillus gasseri (L. gasseri) BNR17, is the first probiotic in Korea to receive individual recognition from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) for its body fat reduction functionality. It is designed to support body fat reduction and gut health, backed by patents registered in over 10 countries and cited in more than 1,300 SCIE-level papers, providing solid scientific evidence and differentiated global competitiveness.
Ahead of this launch, BNRThin S+ recently completed official customs clearance in China under the "food" category as a probiotic solid beverage. This is significant because the product, previously distributed mainly through cross-border e-commerce, has now met China’s official domestic distribution requirements — paving the way for expansion across a variety of on- and offline channels nationwide.
Building on this achievement, AceBiome plans to begin full-scale sales and gradually expand distribution into major offline channels. Through this effort, more Chinese consumers will be able to experience the unique value of BNR17, AceBiome’s core probiotic strain, firsthand.
Baek Jong-deok, Head of Global Business at AceBiome, stated, “The official launch of BNRThin S+ on Oriental Home Shopping marks an important turning point in building brand trust and expanding our distribution network among Chinese consumers. We plan to continue broadening our presence across major on- and offline platforms, including large retail stores, to enhance accessibility and awareness of our products.”
